Michael Angelo’s Winery
FMD has been part of the Michael Angelo’s Winery since 2018, when Michael Angelo’s Bakery expanded to also become a winery. Our team had the privilege of planning and designing the winery, updated in 2023.
Our Services
FMD provided site master planning, design, full architectural and engineering services, and construction administration assistance.
Organization
The 13-acre site has vineyards stretching along the rear property line overlooked by two of the event buildings and a private patio space. The remaining structures are organized around a series of outdoor courtyards and walkways to allow for flow between the areas – maintaining a separation of functions. The overall feel is very comfortable and relaxed within a modern and upscale setting. Guests experience the comfort and ambience leading to good conversations and the savoring of great food and wine.
Highlights
FMD’s design of two recent building expansions at the winery complex earned us the AIA Akron Design Merit Award and the coveted People’s Choice Award. Vaulted ceilings punctuated by high windows allow natural light to flood the tasting room, giving guests a sun-kissed “Sonoma” experience right here in Northeast Ohio. The spaces are always filled with happy customers – from the central bar to the elegant party rooms – a testament to the perfect blend of great food and wine in an unforgettable setting.
