Streetsboro High School

FMD has been part of the Streetsboro Facility Team since 2004 when we began doing maintenance projects and planning. Our team had the privilege of planning and designing the district’s new high school building, constructed in 2016.

Our Services

The District passed the bond issue for OFCC Master Plan work in November 2013. FMD worked closely with the District and City Leaders to define the site requirements for future growth down the State Route 14 Corridor. 21st Century visioning services were conducted with Frank Locker, Design Team, District, Community Members and Students to investigate design options for the new high school. The new facility contains Radio and TV Stations, 800 seat Auditorium, STEM Labs and new state-of-the-art stadium complex with artificial turf.

Organization

The building and site are organized to allow for the separation of bus traffic, parent drop-off, student and staff parking, as well as accommodate visitors during the day and for special events. Quieter academic areas are separated from more active spaces by a central courtyard. A stadium complex flanks the hillside at the back edge of the campus and additional sports fields and overflow parking are on the eastern side of the site.

Highlights

The media center is the main hub of activity for the surrounding academic spaces, providing an open concept for collaboration and project-based learning. The 2-story academic wing keeps classes and teachers together in a unified space. The dining commons serve as a large lobby space for both sporting events in the gymnasium and performances in the auditorium. Other features of the building include a radio station with direct exterior access and an adjacent multi-media production studio.
